LOCAL TREASURE – Harry G. Meyer, a docent and lecturer on Western New York history and architecture, will talk about one of Buffalo’s architectural masterpieces, Louis Sullivan’s Guaranty Building, at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the IMAGINE Buffalo lunchtime lecture series.
The program begins at noon in the Ring of Knowledge on the main floor of the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo with a Great Courses video on “Emerson, Thoreau and the Transcendentalist Movement.”
Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library’s Fables Cafe. The series is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art & Architecture; History & Nature.

Galie, professor emeritus of political science at Canisius College, and Christopher Bopst, chief legal and financial officer at Sam-Son Logistics, who co-edited the book, “New York’s Broken Constitution,” will discuss the pros and cons of the proposed New York State constitutional convention at 6 p.m. Thursday in Duns Scotus Hall Room 236 at Daemen College. Voters will decide in the Nov. 7 general election whether to hold the convention. The program is free and open to the public.
