DWI charged after driver rear-ends vehicle stopped at light

A 55-year-old Fredonia woman was charged with aggravated DWI after she rear-ended a vehicle that had stopped at a traffic light Saturday night, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies reported.

Deputies said Marie D. Lawrence of Douglas Street hit the other vehicle at about 9 p.m. on Route 20 at the intersection with Route 60. The other driver sought medical attention for minor injuries, deputies said.

Lawrence, who also was charged with following too closely, was issued tickets and will appear in Town of Pomfret court.
