Orchard Park man accused of assaulting parents

An Orchard Park man was arrested Friday, accused of assaulting his parents.

Orchard Park Police said that about 1:20 a.m., a patrol responded to a 911 hang up call from a residence on New Taylor Road in the town.  When the patrol officers arrived, they could hear yelling and fighting inside the house, which they determined to be a violent domestic incident involving a man and his parents, all residents of the house.

And investigation revealed that the man had hit, slapped and kicked his father about the head and body and also slapped and cut his mother with a knife while she was trying to prevent her son from hurting her husband further.  The father was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment as a result of the injuries he suffered at the hands of his son, police said.

Timothy Sawczyn, 40,  was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and assault for his alleged actions against his mother and two more counts of assault and first-degree endangering for his actions towards his father.

Sawczyn was held for arraignment.
