KELLEY, Margaret

KELLEY - Margaret Margaret Kelley, born July 20th, 1924 in Oswaldtwistle, England, came to America in 1946, died October 24th, 2017. She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, son Jim and wife Kathy, son Stuart, daughter Jackie and husband Gerry and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her GG. Predeceased by husband Jack, son Timothy and daughter Paula. As a young woman, she volunteered in one of the greatest civilian armies during WWII. During this time she enforced rationing and blackout regulations. She was a devoted member of the fire service, manning roof top water pumps during air raids, while working in a fighter plane factory producing the 1st ever Plexiglass canopies. After her devoted service, she lived a quiet life, enjoying family, friends, church, quilting and was an avid poetry lover. She was loved by everyone she met. She was a quiet and gentle woman, who put all those she met at ease. Though she had a quiet disposition, she had great inner strength. She will be missed by all those who knew her. Services to be held Monday, October 30th, at 11am at Townline Lutheran Church, 1159 Townline Road, Alden.
