[BN] Blitz newsletter: Boldin could play this season after all

Anquan Boldin retired in August less than two weeks after joining the Bills. He said he wanted to focus on his humanitarian efforts, but leaving the Bills also seemed to be part of it.

The latter was confirmed Thursday when Boldin received permission from the Bills to seek a trading partner before next week's deadline. That means Boldin may want to play football after all ‚Äď just not for Buffalo.

"My passion for the advocacy work that I do outweighs my passion for football at this point, so I'm not coming back to play for a contender or do anything else," Boldin said in August. "I'm done with the game of football, and I appreciate all the opportunities that I've been afforded because of football, but at this point I'm done."
