Oct. 25 – Trapping seasons for fox, raccoon, coyote and other upland furbearing animals opens Oct. 25.

Oct. 27 – Lottery drawing for waterfowl blinds begins at 6:30 p.m. sharp in the basement of the Beaver Island Club House for Beaver Island State Park, West River Parkway, Strawberry Island and Motor Island. Oct. 31 - WNY Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its October meeting at the Donovan American Legion Post, 3210 Genesee St., Cheektowaga at 7:30 p.m.  Speakers are Scott Cornett of the Allegany Office of DEC and Tom Hoffman of the US Fish & Wildlife Service will be discussion status of brook trout in WNY. Open to the public. Elections will also be held.

Oct. 31 - Niagara County Fisheries Development Board Meeting, Newfane Community Center, 2737 Main St., Newfane starting at 7 p.m.

Oct. 31 – Halloween Hike at Whirlpool State Park – A Haunted History from 4 to 6 p.m. Call 282-5154 to register for the hike.

Nov. 1 – Requirement for all users of watercraft 21 feet or less to wear personal flotation devices through May 1.
