Drivers will get a two-week reprieve on the Town of Tonawanda's overnight winter parking restrictions.
The Town Board announced that the overnight ban previously set for Nov. 1 will not be enforced until midnight Nov. 15.
Deputy Supervisor John Bargnesi Jr. said the Highway Department gave its approval to allow drivers a few more weeks to park overnight on town streets. But both Bargnesi and Supervisor Joseph H. Emminger urged residents to use common sense.
"If (weather reports) call for an accumulation of snow, please get your cars off the street. Let our guys do their jobs," said Bargnesi.
Emminger noted that the ban on overnight parking is designed to allow plows better access to the streets.
"We are not anticipating any snow, but you never know - it's Buffalo," added Emminger.
