The opiate epidemic in Erie County is taking lives at a rate of 1.5 per day.
A community training workshop in opioid overdose recognition and Naloxone use will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at Good Shepherd Community of Faith, 187 Southside Parkway.
Members of the public will learn about the symptoms of drug overdose and how to administer Naloxone via nasal spray. The workshop, offered by the Erie County Department of Health, also will give attendees a free, two-dose Naloxone kit.
There is no charge for the workshop. To register online, go to www.erie.gov/health.
