Amherst man charged in hit-and-run involving delivery truck

Erie County Sheriff's deputies have arrested an Amherst man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that happened Wednesday. A furniture delivery truck reportedly left the scene after it collided with a vehicle at Salt and County roads in Clarence at about 2 p.m..

An adult and two children were in the vehicle that was hit, which rolled over from the impact.

The Sheriff's Office had sought public assistance to identify and locate the truck, and dozens of calls were received by dispatchers. After seeing the reports and observing damage to one of its delivery vehicles, representatives from Value City Furniture contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

London White, 27, is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, speeding, failure to yield the right of way, and failure to stop at a stop sign.  White surrendered to deputies with his lawyer and was released on appearance tickets for Clarence Town Court at a later date.
