Sabres recall defenseman Zach Redmond

BOSTON – The Sabres' banged-up defense is getting another reinforcement.

The Sabres have called Zach Redmond up from Rochester. Acquired from Montreal in exchange for Nicolas Deslauriers prior to the season, this is the 29-year-old's first time with the Sabres.

Redmond has a goal and three points in four games with Rochester this season. He is tied for the team lead in points and assists (two).

Sabres defenseman Nathan Beaulieu suffered an upper-body injury during Friday's 4-2 loss to Vancouver. Taylor Fedun is also available after being a healthy scratch Friday.

Redmond has appeared in 130 NHL games with Winnipeg, Colorado and Montreal. He has nine goals and 29 assists.
