Niagara County to hold drop-offs for household hazardous waste, electronics

A household hazardous waste drop-off will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the North Tonawanda Public Works Garage, 758 Erie Ave.

Organized by the Niagara County Refuse Disposal District, it's a chance to safely dispose of paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, fertilizers, driveway sealer, pool chemicals and household cleaners.

Also Saturday, an electronics drop-off will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at a site across from Modern Disposal, 4746 Model City Road, Lewiston. It's a chance to recycle old TV sets, computers, printers and other electronics.

Items can be dropped off for free. The drop-offs are open only to Niagara County residents.

Appointments are required for the hazardous waste event, and are available by calling 439-7250 or at rethinkyourwaste.com.
