We’ve seen this before and it won’t be pretty
About 89 percent of funding for the federal budget comes from individual and corporate income taxes. Now I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to math, but if my household budget was cut 15 to 25 percent, I would be underwater, filing for bankruptcy.
You know the government is not going to cut spending. More likely it will increase spending, and the already soaring deficit will destroy our grandchildren’s futures.
This all sounds too familiar. Remember what President George W. Bush did to this country? (In my opinion, he was the worst president in my lifetime, but the current one makes him look like an altar boy.) Bush cut taxes, deregulated the banks, let Wall Street run wild and got us into two wars we probably will never see the end of.
And what were the results? Our 401(k)s disappeared, the bottom fell out, everything was gone, leading to the largest bailout in U.S. history. Who suffered the consequences of such irresponsibility? We the people, of course.
Don’t let these 1 percenters lead us to slaughter again. As the saying goes, you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.
