Fugitive wanted in rape, murder of 13-month-old girl could be in WNY, marshals say

The U. S. Marshals Service is asking people in Western New York to keep an eye out for a fugitive from northern Ohio wanted for the aggravated murder and rape of a 13-month-old girl.

Joshua Gurto, 37, was last seen in Girard, Pa., near Erie, Pa., driving a truck that appears to have a New York license plate. He was traveling with an unknown male and may be in or traveling through this area, according to the Marshals Service.

Gurto, who is wanted by the Conneaut Police Department in Ohio, is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He is described as having a deformed right ear, a misaligned jaw, and tattoos on his right forearm. A reward is offered for information that leads to his arrest.
