Five Bandits will play in Hamilton-based Heritage Cup

Five Buffalo Bandits will suit up Saturday in the Heritage Cup, an exhibition game between the U.S. and Canadian national teams at the FirstOntario Center in Hamilton, Ontario. The Canadian roster features Dhane Smith and Steve Priolo, while the U.S. team includes Tim Edwards, Blaze Riorden and Donny Moss.

Former Bandits Joe Resetarits (Hamburg), Ryan Benesch and Billy Dee Smith will also play, as well as Bishop-Timon grad and Albany stand-out Connor Fields.

Fields, an East Amherst native, scored 55 goals and 117 points in 18 games as a junior last season. He was named a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award, given to the top player in collegiate lacrosse.

Moss is the only Bandit player participating who was not on Buffalo's roster last season. The Adelphi grad has no National Lacrosse League experience but is a seven-year veteran of Major League Lacrosse. He signed with the Bandits on Sept. 5.

The game, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m., can be streamed online through CBC Sports and the Canadian Lacrosse Association's Twitter. Tickets are $20 and still available.
