Oct. 18 – Environmental Forum sponsored by WGRZ entitled “What happens when animals are injured?” Three  wildlife rehabilitators will present. The presentation will held at Tifft Nature Preserve, 1200 Fuhrmann Blvd., Buffalo starting at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 18-20 –St. Mary’s Archers Club Catch and Release Fly Fishing Derby on the Oak Orchard River

Oct. 19 – Southtowns Walleye Association monthly general membership meeting at the clubhouse located at 5895 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg starting at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 19 – Erie County Chapter of SCOPE will hold its monthly meeting at the Harvey D. Morin Post, 965 Center Road, West Seneca starting at 7 p.m.

Oct. 19 – Southtowns Walleye Association general membership meeting, 5895 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg starting at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Joe Yaeger with the Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo.

Oct. 19 – The Lake Erie Chapter of Fly Fishers International will hold its monthly meeting at the West Seneca Senior Center, 4620 Seneca St., West Seneca at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be a silent auction of items from the estate of William Swartz, an original member of the chapter. Oct. 23 - Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs monthly meeting at the Town of Lockport offices, Dysinger and Beattie Roads, Lockport starting at 7 p.m.

Oct. 25 – Trapping seasons for fox, raccoon, coyote and other upland furbearing animals opens Oct. 25.

Oct. 27 – Lottery drawing for waterfowl blinds begins at 6:30 p.m. sharp in the basement of the Beaver Island Club House for Beaver Island State Park, West River Parkway, Strawberry Island and Motor Island. Drawing will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday through Dec. 4. Call 773-3271 for more info.

Oct. 31 - WNY Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its October meeting at the Donovan American Legion Post, 3210 Genesee St., Cheektowaga at 7:30 p.m.  Speakers are Scott Cornett of the Allegany Office of DEC and Tom Hoffman of the US Fish & Wildlife Service will be discussion status of brook trout in WNY. Open to the public. Elections will also be held.
