Planned East Side health center gets $200,000 grant

A planned health center on Buffalo's East Side has received a $200,000 grant from the New York State Health Foundation.

Jericho Road Community Health Center hopes to open the facility at 1021 Broadway in 2018.

“This funding from the New York State Health Foundation will allow us to strengthen the primary care safety net that has been eroding on the city’s East Side,” said Magdalena Nichols, Jericho Road’s chief development officer.

Earlier this year, Jericho Road received a $300,000 matching grant from the John R. Oishei Foundation for the first phase of the project.
