The overnight parking ban in the Town of Tonawanda begins Nov. 1.
Winter parking on all streets in the town will be prohibited between 2 and 6 a.m. until April 1, town police said. Parking tickets will be issued beginning Nov. 1, police said.
Police also reminded residents that town code prohibits parking motor vehicles or trailers on the landscaped portion of any front yard. State law prohibits parking a motor vehicle or trailer on a sidewalk and violators may be subject to a fine of up to $250, police said.
In addition to enforcement of the overnight parking ban, town police also will be watchful for cars parking on front lawns or blocking sidewalks and "will take appropriate action," according to the news release.
