Probability Index: Bills playoffs odds improve after having the week off, betting site says

The Bills own a 3-2 record after the bye week, but the Patriots passed them atop the AFC East. Where does that put their playoff odds?

The Bills' playoff chances actually improved while they had the weekend off, according to the betting site betlabsports.com, which uses its data to simulate the season 10,000 times and come up with a weekly Probability Index. The index uses team projections and adjusts for strength of schedule.

Here are their latest projections for the Bills entering their Week Seven game against the Buccaneers:

Odds to make the playoffs: 41.4 percent (LW: 38.8%).

Odds to win the division: 16.62 percent (Last week: 17.9%).

Odds to win the Super Bowl: 1.41 percent (LW: 1.13%).

The Patriots remain the favorite to win the AFC East at 78.2 percent and still have the highest probability to win the Super Bowl at 16.81 percent. The Kansas City Chiefs, who sent their first-round pick to Buffalo, have the highest probability to make the playoffs at 93.22 percent.
