Beer notes: New York Beer Project, 42 North, Big Ditch

New York Beer Project's zombie beer

New York Beer Project (6933 S. Transit Road, Lockport) will release its new Zombie Apricot Rum-Aged Farmhouse Ale at 5 p.m. Oct. 26. To celebrate the release, it will host an Adult Halloween Party on the second floor at 8 p.m. The party will include dancing to live music from Invisible Touch, and prizes for the best costumes. 42 North chills with Ithaca Beer

42 North Brewing Company (25 Pine St., East Aurora) will celebrate its second anniversary from noon to midnight Oct. 21. To commemorate, the brewery will tap its new Belgian pale ale, Parallel Lines, a collaboration with Ithaca Beer Company. The 6.9 percent ABV (alcohol by volume) beer was brewed using New York State ingredients.

Alongside the beer tapping, the event will feature a complimentary beer and cheese pairing (1 to 1:30 p.m.) and beer and chocolate pairing (3 to 3:30 p.m.) with Chief Brewing Officer Clay Keel in the new 42 Below Barrel House. Live music will begin at 5:30 p.m. and go all night. Call 805-7500.

Big Ditch kicks its heels up

Big Ditch Brewing Company (55 E. Huron St.) will release a return of fan favorite, Make Me Wanna Stout, on Oct. 22.

Brewed specifically for football Sundays in the Buffalo area, the beer is a 5.2 percent ABV coffee and cream stout brewed with Revolution coffee from Public Espresso, oatmeal and a lightly sweet finish from added milk sugar. Call 854-5050.
