KOESTLER - Marlene Madonna (nee Demarco)
Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Lynn Haven, Florida. She was born October 23, 1933 in Farnham, New York. As a young child, her family moved to Buffalo, New York where she graduated from Lafayette High School and Bryant & Stratton College. She was happily married to Kenneth A. Koestler for forty-eight years. Marlene worked for the Buffalo Board of Education as an Administrative Aide at Grover Cleveland High School for thirty years. After retiring, she moved to Lynn Haven, Florida where she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, reading and volunteering at the local hospital. Marlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Adeline DeMarco; brother, John DeMarco; and husband, Kenneth A. Koestler. She is survived by sisters, Billy Wooden, Lucy Meyers and Rosebud (James) Coppola; brother, James DeMarco (Sandy); sons, Kenneth A. Koestler II and Kevin (Laura) Koestler; grandchildren Kevin D. Koestler II (Elizabeth Hoffman), Candace (Austin) Milton and Kenneth C. Koestler; great- grandchildren, Ethan and Charlie Milton and Lennon Hoffman. Services celebrating her life and love will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Tonawanda, NY.
