Former Bills running back Thurman Thomas joined John Murphy and Donald Jones on WGR-550 AM on Wednesday.
Thomas talked about the antics of Shannon Sharpe on television, the offense needing to capitalize on the turnovers the defense gets, how the offense can work more power blocking into the current run scheme, the justified frustration of LeSean McCoy, Tre'Davious White's resilience, Mike Tolbert being the second running back behind McCoy and how the 3-2 start has affected Thomas' prediction of team success.
Bills insider Chris Brown also joined Murphy and Jones, and he talked about Joe Girardi's baseball manager acumen, the Bills' bye week expectations, can the Bills overcome their schedule and his thoughts on how the offense can improve. Brown also cited Eric Woods' interview yesterday on WGR, in which the Bills center highlighted that they are 'close' to mastering the zone blocking scheme. Brown finished talking about the culture change and the final five games of the season.
Finally, ECMC president/CEO Tom Quatroche joined to talk about the "Crucial Catch" campaign and ECMC's focus on helping the community with regard to cancer in all forms, and how they'll assist the Bills with that awareness during the Tampa Bay game.
John Murphy: "The Bills are deeply flawed on offense right now, but they have time to make it right."
Donald Jones: "Don't be surprised if Brandon Tate isn't just in the lineup, but targeted a lot in this next game."
Chris Brown: "The defenses they've faced so far? Without a doubt that's the toughest they'll see...I think from an offensive standpoint, the path looks a little easier going forward."
Chris Brown: "This is a team, that's not routinely beating themselves....there are a couple of miscues, but it's not a bounty of plays where you say, 'what are you doing out there'?"
Thurman Thomas: "They gotta find a way, someway somehow to get Shady involved."
