WNY Driver of the Week: Cassie Logsdon

Hometown: Leicester

Division: SST Modifieds/Wyoming County

Lowdown: Logsdon comes from a large racing family tree that involved members past and present, including Cassie's grandfather, the late owner Dale Logsdon, as well as drivers including, father Rick Logsdon, brother Luke Logsdon, uncles Mike and Art Logsdon and cousins, Jake, Justin and Bailey Logsdon.

Cassie began her driving career in the Go-Karts at Bliss Speedway in 2005.  She won four Novice class races. Then in her third season of Go-Kart competition she went to the Spec-Claimer class where she suffered a bad accident and decided to move to the 4-Cylinders at Wyoming County International Speedway full time in 2008. Late in the 2009 campaign a move from 4-Cylinders up to the Super Stock class at WCIS ensued. She raced in the Super Stocks until joining WCIS's headlining SST Modified class late last season.

In 2016, the late Leonard Lent, who died last October, sponsored and obtained Cassie' SST Modified car for her to compete with. She raced as a SST Modified rookie at WCIS this season. Cassie acknowledged her crew including Rick Logsdon, Eric Stone and Jason Templeton.

Accomplishments: In addition to being a feature race Go-Kart winner at Bliss, Cassie is the WCIS 2014 Super Stock champion. Logsdon finished fourth in WCIS SST Modified points in 2017. She is a past winner of the WCIS Super Stock Hard Charger Award in 2012 as well as the WCIS Female Racer of the Year in 4-Cylinders and Super Stocks in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
