A lakeshore flooding warning issued for areas along Lake Ontario in Niagara, Orleans and Monroe counties has been extended until 8 a.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo says that strong winds and "building wave action" are expected to increase shoreline erosion. There also may be some flooding in low-lying areas near bays and inlets, forecasters warned.
It'll be rainy and cooler today in Western New York, with a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain forecast in the area starting this morning. Highs will be in the mid- to upper 50s today.
