DICKINSON, Paul Roy

DICKINSON - Paul Roy Age 88, died October 4, 2017 in Severna Park, MD after a brief illness. He was born on June 23, 1929, to Henry James Dickinson and Ruth Marguerite (Hill) Dickinson in Niagara Falls. He settled in Tonawanda with his late wife, Maria (Perez) Dickinson. They were married for 36 years. Maria lost her battle with cancer in 1989. In 1990 he married Barbara Greggs Billard. They were married for 21 years until her death in 2011. Paul attended Niagara University. He worked in the Buffalo area for Carborundum Company, Bell Aerospace, and Computer Task Group. He later worked for ACS Technologies, combining two of his main interests, church and computers. He was a longtime member of Woods Church, where he sang in the choir, and was a member of the Retired Handyperson Breakfast Society. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, from 1950-54. He worked hard to create a close-knit family, and insisted his children and grandchildren always be good to each other. He had a passion for music, loved genealogy and was an avid reader and history buff. He is survived by his children, David Dickinson (Diane) of Sudbury, MA, Donna Breskin (William) of Vienna, VA, and Mary Lev (Richard) of Bernardsville, NJ; and seven granddaughters. He is also survived by Julia Fulton, whom he loved very much. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Ruth (Dickinson) Millberg. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 16, at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD. 21146. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Woods Church, or to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD, 21122. A second service will be held in Niagara Falls, date to be determined.
