Bills wide receiver Zay Jones’ rookie campaign in the NFL is not off to an ideal start.
While Jones remains confident, the second-round draft choice has struggled, dropping passes and failing to develop consistent on-field chemistry with quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
The Bills have stood behind Jones, hoping he was just suffering the same growing pains many rookies go through and counting on him to find the same flare he exhibited as a college standout at East Carolina.
But an injury to top receiver Jordan Matthews and a heavy rainstorm during Sunday’s game didn’t make things any easier against the Bengals for Jones, who dropped another ball in the first half today.
A barrage of tweets flooded in with Bills fans’ frustrations.

Later in the half, however, Jones did pull in a nine-yard catch for a first down, causing some fans to express surprise.
