A thief jumped over the counter, pushed the sales clerk out of the way and wrenched open the cash drawer to rob a Family Dollar store in South Buffalo on Sunday morning, according to a report filed with Buffalo police.
The robbery took place at 10:10 a.m. at the Family Dollar at 438 South Park Ave., near Louisiana Street, a store employee later told South District officers.
The male robber was about 5 feet 6 inches tall, in a gray hoodie with a gray, blue and yellow bandanna, blue jeans and black gloves. After he got the register open, he took about $140 in cash before fleeing on foot toward Fulton Street, police said. A police report did not indicate a weapon was displayed, nor did it say the clerk was injured in the robbery.
