Walkers hope to bring attention to domestic violence

People concerned about domestic violence in Niagara Falls will be walking down Third Street Tuesday to dramatize their concerns.

The fourth annual Domestic Violence Ribbon Walk, sponsored by Family and Children's Service of Niagara, is to begin at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Third and Main streets.

The group will walk down Third Street to Niagara Street, tying purple ribbons on the trees as they do. Participants also are asked to wear purple, the color of domestic violence awareness.

After the walk, the group is to gather in Wine on Third, 501 Third St., to view an exhibit of art created by domestic violence survivors and their children at Passage House, the city's only domestic violence shelter.
