Mike McNamara is back with the Bandits after four years away from the franchise. The 27-year-old defenseman was one of three to sign with Buffalo Friday afternoon.
McNamara played in 13 games with the Bandits from 2012 to 2013, totaling three assists. He's made 43 career appearances in the NLL between Buffalo, Colorado and New England, notching one goal, 13 points and 114 loose balls. He hasn't played in the league since 2016.
Buffalo also signed forward Tyler Albrecht and goalie Hunyahdengowah (Gowah) Abrams, neither of which have NLL experience. Albrecht played field lacrosse in Major League Lacrosse this summer. He scored a goal in four games played with the New York Lizards. Abrams won 22 of the 23 games he played with the Native Sons of the Can-Am league and won a silver medal playing with the Iroquois at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in 2015. He'll have an uphill battle to make the roster with goalies Alex Buque and Davide DiRuscio already with the team.
