Former Chautauqua County teacher accused of 'inappropriate relationship' with student

A Chautauqua County teacher has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly having an "inappropriate relationship" with a student while she was a teacher at Clymer Central Schools, Chautauqua County Sheriff's officials said Wednesday.

The former teacher, identified as Samantha Dascomb, 31, of Clymer, resigned from her job in March, said Clymer Superintendent Burt Lictus. She taught high school English.

The sheriff's office received a complaint in March about the allegations that Dascomb was involved with a 16-year-old male student. The relationship is believed to have started in May 2016 and continued until March.

Dascomb was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and appeared in Town of Clymer Court, sheriff's officials said.
