WNY Golf: Young pros wins inaugural area PGA Junior-Senior team matches

By picking up 6 1/2 points of 12 in the singles matches, the Junior Team defeated the Seniors, 12 1/2-11 1/2, in the inaugural Western New York Senior-Junior matches Monday at the Orchard Park Country Club. Each side picked up six points in the Foursome and Four-Ball matches leaving the singles matches as the deciding factor.

Rob Krajewski, Cody Endress, Michael Shine, Jason Piurkowski and Dwayne Randall won singles matches for the Juniors while Sean Coleman, Tom Keenan and John Daddario halved their matches. Bobby Hogan, Michael O'Connor, Scott Jenkins and Mark Kirk were singles winners for the Seniors while Frank LaForce, Steve Latimer and Rob Horak halved theirs.

Lonnie Nielsen, the former head pro at Crag Burn and PGA Legends Tour competitor, shot 34-39-73, 1 over par, to win the Locust Hill Pro-Am on Sunday in Rochester. Dwayne Randall (Peek'n Peak) tied for sixth with 37-38-85 and Michael Shine (CC of Buffalo) tied for 10th with 37-39-76.
