Letter: Kneeling during anthem feels like a slap in the face

Kneeling during anthem feels like a slap in the face

I officially stopped watching football on Sept. 24. Forever! Those who take a knee and do not respect our anthem are a disgrace to our country.

If this spreads to other sports, I will not be watching any sports in the future. These so-called heroes are nothing but overpaid crybabies. It should be a privilege to do what they do. If fans stop showing up, guess what? They would have to find a real job.

To put it into perspective for those who do not stand while the anthem is being played, my wife and I lost our son, Capt. John J. Levulis, just before Mother’s Day of 2015. How do you think my wife feels every year when Mother’s Day comes around, as my son so proudly served America?
