One of two suspects arrested in a break-in on East Delavan

Two men allegedly entered a first floor apartment on East Delavan Avenue without permission and pistol whipped a resident at 2:14 a.m. Friday.

One suspect, Bishara Lott, 44, of Florida Avenue, was caught by police after the attackers fled. He was charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault and resisting arrest. Lott was also found in possession of five counterfeit $20 bills.

Police identified a second suspect as Romont C. Thompson, 26, of Pleasant Parkway, who evaded arrest.

The victim, a 44-year-old man, said after the two came into his home uninvited, Thompson pulled out a pistol and struck him on the back left side of his head, causing a cut and swelling.
