Free shredding, clothing collection and bicycle donations at one event

Roebling Avenue Block Club and City of Buffalo to host a free community shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 14 at the corner of Roebling Avenue and East Delavan Street.

Acceptable materials include confidential and personal documents containing information like account or Social Security numbers, bank or medical statements or tax documents.

Western New York Coalition for Donated Goods also will be on hand to accept clothing donations, including worn or torn clothes, shoes and textiles.

And GObike Buffalo's Recycle-a-Bike program will collect bicycles in any condition. The program works with at-risk students to teach them about bicycle repair and maintenance, safety, health and the environment. The students also build their own bikes from refurbished parts.
