Junior Carissima Cutrona (Williamsville South) scored the game-winning goal for the University at Buffalo women's soccer team in a 2-1 win at Eastern Michigan on Friday.
UB opened the scoring in the fifth minute on a goal by freshman Marcy Barberic (Grand Island), which was the first point of her career. The Eagles tied it up in the 77th minute, but Cutrona scored her team-leading fifth goal just four minutes later. Senior Laura Dougall made six saves in the win.
"I have to give a ton of credit to our girls for finding a way to win on the road this afternoon," coach Shawn Burke said. "We made it harder than we should have, but winning is hard and our girls found a way today."
The Bulls (4-5-1, 2-1) head to Central Michigan next for a game at noon on Sunday.
