Attorney general to Buffalo store owner: No delivery, no refund? No fair

A South Buffalo furniture store owner faces a lawsuit after customers charged that he allegedly took advance payments for items that were not delivered, State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced Thursday.

The lawsuit seeks to have James Damico identify all the customers who paid for furniture they allegedly did not receive from his store, Chairs & Tables Inc., 2085 South Park Ave., according to Schneiderman's office.

And it seeks to ban Damico from the furniture business until he posts a $20,000 bond to protect future customers, Schneiderman's office stated.

Schneiderman stated when investigators went to the store after several complaints from customers, Damico allegedly denied he was the owner, but later admitted it during a meeting in the Attorney General’s office. Schneiderman said Damico agreed to repay the customers, but allegedly failed to do so.
