A Canadian truck cut a corner too sharply, taking out a power pole and transformer at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Main and Delton streets in the City of Tonawanda, City of Tonawanda Police Capt. Fredric Foels said.

There was no power disruption, but the traffic light at the intersection was out.

The driver, identified as Jagroop Singh, 21, of Mississauga, Ont., was ticketed for an overweight truck and driving a commercial vehicle on a residential street.
