Driver arrested in Thruway road rage incident

A Central New York man was arrested Tuesday after an alleged road rage incident on the Thruway in which he allegedly threatened another driver with a knife, state police said.

Shortly after 3 p.m., troopers were called to the Thruway in the Town of Newstead. A motorist told troopers that following a minor property damage accident, the other driver threatened him with a knife.

The driver was identified as Steven C. Walker, 45, of Cicero, a suburb of Syracuse. He was taken into custody and charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal mischief and misdemeanor counts of second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was also ticketed for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Walker was arraigned in the Town of Newstead Court and released.
