The U.S. Men's National Sled Hockey team will make its way through Buffalo as it prepares for the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.
The U.S. will play Canada in the Border Series from Feb. 7-11 with games in Buffalo and Port Colborne, Ont. Specific dates and times will be announced at a later date. The series is the final international competition for both countries in advance of the Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, scheduled for March 8-18.
Western New York once again has two players on the national team roster — Adam Page (Lancaster) and Paul Schaus (Buffalo), both of whom play for the Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey team.
The U.S. team will have three training camps in Ohio, North Carolina and Wisconsin leading up to December's 2017 World Sled Hockey Challenge in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The U.S. has won that event four straight times.
Following that event, the U.S. will begin its residency program in Chicago, traveling to Turin, Italy, for the Turin 2018 Para Ice Hockey International Tournament from Jan. 22-27.
