Thurman Thomas: 'As long as 45 keeps talking, we're going to have problems'

Thurman Thomas said Tuesday that he does not think the national anthem protests by NFL players should be seen as an affront to the military or public service officials. During his weekly appearance on the John Murphy Show, Thomas said the intent of the protests was to focus on injustice in the United States and respect for all.

"It's not about the flag or the anthem ... just like someone doesn't have to have their lord and savior be Jesus Christ," Thomas said.

The Bills Wall of Famer also noted that he doesn't see an end to the protests until President Trump stops talking about NFL players.

"As long as 45 [President Trump] keeps talking, we're going to have problems," Thomas said.
