John Murphy Show: McDermott thinks Bills 'didn't back down and competed like crazy'

Buffalo Bills insider Chris Brown joined John Murphy and Donald Jones on WGR-550 AM on Monday.

Brown talked about the Bills' performance on Sunday, Tyrod Taylor's passing being the key to victory, the offensive variance of Rick Dennison, and the upcoming game versus the Falcons.

Murphy and Jones also discussed the pregame demonstrations around the NFL, the importance of the passing game carrying the running game, and where the Bills go from here.

Defensive tackle Adolphus Washington also joined Murphy and Jones, and he talked about the line rotation, his feelings on the win and his role in pressuring Trevor Siemian.

Quotable

Donald Jones on fan call questioning Zay Jones: "We don't want to get into a situation where you're only throwing to Jordan Matthews — he's going to be on the field."

John Murphy: "Look, we probably have 53 guys who have 53 different opinions on the president's remarks and [they] did it with arm's length. I thought the Bills nailed it for the most part. I mean, it's a protest, no one got hurt."

Stephen Hauschka: "Being a white guy who grew up outside of Boston, who wanted to be a dentist ... I grew up in a diverse school ... I have teammates and I see what they see and I support their messages. If my life had gone in a different direction, I might not see what they see. I think it takes trust, blind trust from the fans to believe these people ... I think some blind trust is important, because it's hard. We get stuck in our own circles and I've been fortunate to get into many different locker rooms and know what's going on. I love them and respect them."

Chris Brown on key to victory: "I would go passing game, because without it they don't win."

Sean McDermott: "We didn't back down and we competed like crazy ... Tre'Davious, like the rest of the team really finished strong."
