Time capsule to preserve history of Children's Hospital

A time capsule shout-out has gone out to all Kaleida Health employees and physicians at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo to submit hospital-related items before the November move to the new Oishei Children's Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

Last week, Kaleida began encouraging staff to donate current Children's Hospital items by Oct. 6 that will be included in a hospital time capsule contained within a safe, black box. Small items from 2017 inside the hospital are being sought. Items cannot be larger than 10 inches in height, 15 inches wide and 12 inches deep.

Once assembled, the time capsule will be placed within the walls of the new Oishei Children's Hospital at 818 Ellicott St. to signify the history and legacy of Children's Hospital, located on Bryant Street for 125 years. Employees and staff will be invited to preview the items before they are sealed in the capsule.

Donations can be dropped off at the hospital administration office through Oct. 6.
