Keegan shoots 66 for state Mid-Am golf lead

Patrick Keegan fired a record-tying 5-under 66 to take the lead after two rouns of the New York State Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championshhip at the Yahnundasis Country Club in New Hartford. Keegan has a 138 going into today's final round. and holds atwo stroke lead over Darin Goldstein (69-140) of Noyac Golf Club and Kyle Downey (68-140) of Locust Hill. First day leader Tim Spitz of Monroe Golf Club shot 72 after his opening round 70.

Keegan (Locust Hill in Rochester) tied the record 66 set by Adam Condello of the same club, at Teugega in 2014.

Billy Hanes (Crag Burn) 71-74-145, tied for ninth, leads the Western New York entrants. Kristopher Boyes (Sheridan Park) is tied for 14th with 75-71-146, At 147 are Michael Carrig (Springville) and Matt Stasiak (NYSGA eClub - WNY). Kenneth Riter (NYSGA eClub WNY) and Jake Katz (Broookfield) are at 149. Also surviving was Nicklaus Ambrose (Fox Valley) who was right on the cut line of 151.
