2 men arrested after drug deal goes bad, police say

A City of Tonawanda man was chased Wednesday night by a Wheatfield man he sold drugs to after the buyer realized he got ripped off, according to police.

Michael E. Schlifke, 26, is accused of selling Suboxone strips to Kristopher T. Fedeson, 41. After the transaction, according to City of Tonawanda police, Fedeson realized the strips had been altered and were empty.

Fedeson tracked Schlifke down and demanded his money back, police said.

Schlifke was arrested at about 7 p.m. in a backyard on Beyer Drive, police said. He was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance, trespassing and petit larceny, police said.

Fedeson, of Walmore Road, was charged with attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
