Children's Hospital plans practice run to prepare for move

Staff at Women & Children's Hospital will hold a mock move on Friday to prepare for the November opening of the new Oishei Children's Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

The exercise, one of several practice runs for the move,  will include patient actors and key move personnel to prepare for the complex task of ensuring patient safety on move day.

Several other move exercises have been held ahead of the final move from the Bryant Street hospital to the $270 million, 12-story new location at 818 Ellicott St.

In November, the hospital is planning to move the entire hospital in one day in timed stages involving 15 ambulances.

How do you move a children's hospital? With plenty of practice.
