'Inside Edition's' Les Trent to speak at forum on journalism amid 'fake news'

Les Trent, senior correspondent for "Inside Edition" and a former Buffalo reporter, producer and weekend anchor, will be the keynote speaker for "Journalism in the Age of Fake News: Is the News Still for You?"

Trent's speech will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A on how the public can discern "fake news."  The luncheon also will include presentation of the 2017 Carl R. Allen Memorial Scholarship for African-Americans going into journalism.

The event, sponsored by the Buffalo Association of Black Journalists, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Tickets are $35 and include lunch, and are available at Doris Records, Bus Stop Liquor or by calling 849-5598.
