Two Niagara Falls motorcyclists collide on LaSalle Expressway

A Niagara Falls man was flown by helicopter to Erie County Medical Center following a collision between two motorcyclists Monday night on the LaSalle Expressway in Niagara Falls, state police said.

The two motorcycles collided at about 9:10 p.m., police said.

Deevine Colon, 28, was heading west on a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle when he hit the rear end of a 2008 BMW 760LI operated by Cain Darcangelo, 21, also of the Falls, police said.

Colon was treated at the scene for what were described as multiple, non-life-threatening injuries and then transported by Mercy Flight helicopter to ECMC. Darcangelo was not injured and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the collision, police said.

Police intend to issue Colon traffic tickets upon his release from the hospital, said Trooper James O'Callaghan, agency spokesman. O'Callaghan did not specify what citations would be issued.
