Greenwich Associates plans to close a location in AppleTree Business Park in Cheektowaga by mid-November, eliminating 149 jobs, the business said in a filing with the state Department of Labor.
Connecticut-based Greenwich describes itself as a provider of market intelligence and advisory services to the financial services industry. It has been an AppleTree tenant for seven years, leasing 6,000 square feet. McGuire Development, the property's leasing agent, said it has not received official notice from Greenwich about its planned departure.
Greenwich employees collect data over the phone and online, and that is work is being consolidated, said Joan Weber, a company spokeswoman. "Our business needs have changed, and our clients, as well."
In its state filing, Greenwich said it will begin laying off workers Oct. 28 and complete the closing on Nov. 11.
