A scavenger hunt, demonstrations from a K-9 "detector dog" and Smokey Bear will be at the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Cheektowaga Saturday for its 17th annual Fall Festival.
In all, 25 different organizations will be on hand with interactive exhibits with outdoor adventure themes, including the Penn Dixie Fossil Park, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Buffalo Zoo.
Children of all ages are invited to participate in nature art and fort building activities. The will also be snowshoeing and simulated fly fishing exhibits.
"The festival is a showcase of the best of Western New York's environmental and nature community," said Reinstein Woods Education Center Director Meaghan Boice-Green.
The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The nature preserve is located at 93 Honorine Drive off of Como Park Boulevard.
