Albion man pleads guilty to receiving child porn

An Albion man Thursday admitted receiving child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

Christopher Ridder, 46, pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography, before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years imprisonment.

Ridder was found in possession of over 600 images of child pornography, some depicting prepubescent children and some depicting sadistic or masochistic conduct, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Lamarque.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the Medina Police Department.

Ridder is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 8 before Judge Vilardo.
