Williamsville's real estate market is hot, numbers released this week show.
The combined value of the village's properties has grown much faster than properties in the town of Amherst outside the village, according to a report by the Town Assessor's Office.
After this year's townwide reassessment, the total taxable assessed value of the village's properties grew by nearly 25 percent from last year. Meanwhile, the taxable assessed value of properties in the town outside the village grew by 18.6 percent.
That means village residents who received a substantial increase in their assessments can expect an increase in taxes as well.
The value of properties in Williamsville amounts to $466.8 million. The value of properties in the town of Amherst amounts to $10.46 billion.
